It’s finally sinking in for all of us Australian’s that COVID-19 is here and will likely be with us till the end of the year. As vascular surgeons not only must we win the war on the viral epidemic but must also ensure that our patients continue to receive the highest standard of care for their vascular conditions – which by the way continues to affect people irrespective of the Covid Epidemic.

Here is some of the things we have done as part of the YVS COVID 19 response:

  1.  Where possible we have the option of telephone consults for our new and review patients. This will be at no out of pocket cost to the patient whether the patients meets the Telehealth bulk billing eligibility or not.
  2. If attendance is required, we endeavour to have limited number of patients booked per clinic to avoid busy waiting rooms. There is additional spacing between seats in the waiting room. You can also opt to wait in the car and receive a phone call to come up only when it’s your turn to be seen.
  3. To reduce the number of visits we endeavour to book all patients in to one-stop ultrasound and consult appointment slots.
  4. All patients are advised not to visit if they have a fever, new cough, sore throat or recent travel overseas. Isolate yourself and call the Covid-19 Help line Central Patient COVID-19 Triage Hotline –1800 020 080.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
